The Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority manages Kings Park and Botanic Garden and Bold Park and undertakes a wide range of projects, researches rare and endangered flora, improves the natural and built environment and enhances visitor experiences.
Kings Park and Botanic Garden is the most visited tourist attraction in the State of Western Australia and incorporates cultivated parklands, an extensive botanic garden and acres of natural bushland one kilometre from the heart of the city.
Bold Park is also an urban bushland area and is located in the Floreat and City Beach suburbs. Extensive restoration and conservation work is being carried out at Bold Park.
The Botanic Garden and Parks Authority receives its funding primarily from the State Government of Western Australia. This is supported by generous donations from individuals, grants from a variety of organisations and sponsorship from corporations, which are directed towards maintaining our high standard of horticultural and conservation practices, scientific research, visitor facilities and maintaining some of the State's significant cultural and memorial sites.
