Plans and Policies
The strategic direction of the Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority is largely dictated by the Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority Act 1998. Policy documents such as the Strategic Plan and Management Plans assist in the ongoing care and maintenance of the designated lands, Kings Park and Botanic Garden and Bold Park.
The Strategic Plan outlines the strategic direction of the Authority, including its governing and planning framework, legislation, vision, mission, values, services, and key performance indicators.
The Kings Park and Botanic Garden Management Plan 2014 - 2019 was approved by the Hon Albert Jacob, Minister for Environment and Heritage in October 2014.
The Bold Park Management Plan 2016 - 2021 was approved by the Hon Albert Jacob, Minister for Environment and Heritage in September 2016.
The Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority is sincerely committed to ensuring that people with disabilities, their families and carers will have the same opportunities as other people to access Authority services, facilities, events and information.
The Authority manages lands with a significant number of important state and public memorials, such as the iconic Kings Park and Botanic Garden State War Memorial.
The Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority has a long standing commitment to recognition and celebration of Indigenous cultural heritage and respect for Indigenous people and their connections with Kings Park and Botanic Garden and Bold Park, past, present and future.
The Authority sincerely appreciates all offers of assistance in the form of gifts, donations and bequests, and gives due consideration to all offers.
The purpose of this policy is to provide guidelines for the Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority when considering an idea or proposal from a proponent for a major new event, new infrastructure, new business, product placement and/or other related concepts.
Periodically, the Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority releases documents for public review and comment in accordance with the Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority Act 1998.
