On behalf of Lotterywest, the Hon Stephen Dawson MLA Minister for Environment presented the Friends of Kings Park with a $100,000 grant for the 2017 Kings Park Festival on Wednesday, 7 June.

Lotterywest grant presentationThe grant marks the seventh consecutive year of Lotterywest sponsorship of the Kings Park Festival. Minister Dawson was pleased to present that grant and see this long-standing sponsorship continue, he stated:

'This grant will mean people from all walks of life will be able to enjoy a fantastic free program of activities and exhibitions throughout September, in amongst the spectacular gardens full of thousands of wildflowers'.

The grant will also enable Kings Park Festival to further convey its Festival message which is to help our community understand how unique and precious our natural environment is, and to show the role we can all play in taking care of it for the future.

This year’s Festival will include a striking ephemeral art installation which will showcase some of the more interesting relationships between native plants and animals and how they rely on each other to survive and thrive.
