The Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority is delighted to announce a significant new partner for the annual Kings Park Festival.
Australian energy company Santos has agreed to a three-year sponsorship as Major Partner of the Kings Park Festival, including naming rights to the Santos Live Sundays series of music concerts and family theatre.
Santos joins long-term Kings Park sponsors the Water Corporation and Lotterywest, in affirming the Kings Park Festival’s role as a leading community environmental education medium.
Santos has an impressive record of corporate citizenship in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region by supporting organisations and events that are valued by the communities where it operates.
John Anderson, Vice President of Santos’ Western Australian business, said the Kings Park Festival partnership added a new dimension to the company’s growing presence in Western Australia.
“Santos is proud to provide funding that will allow more people to enjoy this iconic annual Festival and build awareness about the importance of conserving Western Australia’s precious biodiversity,” he said.
“Santos is committed to making a positive contribution to the communities we are part of and we look forward to bringing our energy to the Kings Park Festival over the coming years.”
Kings Park’s Chief Executive Officer Mark Webb said he was extremely pleased that Santos had committed to supporting the Festival as Major Partner with a series of free events to be known as Santos Live Sundays, to be held on the main stage in the Botanic Garden from 10.30 am to 5.00 pm each Sunday in September.
“The new sponsorship from Santos is invaluable to building the Festival’s community access strategies. The BGPA Board of Management and I are confident their support will benefit all Western Australians by providing many more free Festival performances and activities.”
Santos has been a major supplier of natural gas to Western Australia for over 20 years. Through its John Brookes, Reindeer and Spar gas fields, Santos will be providing energy to Western Australia for decades to come.
The month long Kings Park Festival is in its 4th year and runs from the 1 September to 10 October 2010.
