The 2011 Kings Park Festival will celebrate Trees for Life, supporting the UN International Year of Forests.
The festival will begin on Thursday 1 September, finishing with the ever-popular Wild Fairyland Festival on Sunday 2 October.
Wonderful Wildflowers
Walk through the Botanic Garden or Kings Park Bushland at your own pace or join a free guided walk with our informative volunteer guides and experience the brilliant, bright abundance of native wildflowers. Guided Wildflower Walks depart at 10.00 am, 12.00 pm and 2.00 pm daily throughout September.
Kings Park's Special Trees Outdoor Photography Exhibit
Lose yourself in this must-see outdoor photography exhibit. Fifty Kings Park trees will be profiled for their botanical, cultural and/or historical significance. Then take a stroll through the park and see how many you can find, using the Tree Guide booklet available in the Visitor Information Centre. Daily throughout September.
Santos Live Sundays
Relax in the Botanic Garden with a picnic and enjoy live local music over four themed Sundays in September.
4 September – Botanic Blues and Roots
11 September – Boodja Gnarning Waakiny
18 September – Tree-mendous Tunes
25 September – Everlasting Jazz Picnic
Be entertained by Kings Park’s Adorable Florables as they dance their way through the Botanic Garden every Sunday in September.
Connect with Kings Park
These ever popular workshops are back again with something for everyone. From walks with bird experts to gardening tips, and a range of art and craft workshops. With a mix of free and pre-paid events the choices are apt for all – what will you choose? Bookings commence 1 August.
Boodja Gnarning Walk
This year’s festival sees the official opening of Kings Park and Botanic Garden’s new Boodja Gnarning Walk – a self guided walk through the gardens designed to immerse the walker in traditional Indigenous life. Learn about living off the land, from bush tucker to handy tools. Daily throughout September.
Kings Park Education
The Kings Park Festival offers three great opportunities for schools to get involved.

Wild Fairyland Festival
The biggest Fairyland Party of the year will be held at the Lotterywest Family Area on Sunday 2 October. Kings Park invites Perth’s little fairies, pixies and wizards for a Fairy-tastic fun day of entertainment and activities.
