New Fitness Training Guidelines

E-mailPrint

An important message for all fitness trainers and sporting groups using Kings Park.

kp_fitness_cover.jpgThe Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority recognises the importance of a healthy lifestyle and welcomes individuals and groups wishing to participate in healthy activities. In order to ensure that an ever-increasing demand for fitness training and sporting activities does not compromise the integrity of Kings Park and Botanic Garden, new Guidelines promoting the responsible use and conservation of Kings Park have been developed.

Please download and read the brochure below carefully as it outlines the Guidelines, Condition of Use and Safe Working Practices.

The use of Kings Park by fitness trainers is free for groups of up to 25 participants however, booking is essential for all visits. Booking approvals can be granted for a maximum six month period.

Please note that fitness training activities are not permitted in the Western Australian Botanic Garden or the State War Memorial Precinct. In addition, Jacobs Ladder is not within Kings Park - it is owned and managed by Perth City Council.

These guidelines will be enforced by Park Management Officers from 1 November 2008. Failure to comply with the Guidelines after this date may result in a penalty of up $1500 and/or the fitness trainer being prohibited from operating in Kings Park.

To apply for fitness training approval, or for more information, please contact the Bookings Officer. You can download the fitness booking form here:
