Gija Jumulu has once again delighted staff by flowering during April. This is the first time any of the Kings Park boabs have flowered.

In early December, the arboriculturalist team noticed very early leaf buds emerging on the Giant Boab within the lower canopy and also at the highest points.  The leaves and flowers are a clear sign that the northern giant is establishing itself in its new home after making its iconic journey.

Gija Jumulu journeyed over 3200 kilometres in July 2008, from Warmun in WA's Kimberley region, to Kings Park in Perth and attracted world-wide media coverage.
