The new link road that runs from Fraser Avenue in Kings Park through to May Drive is now open to two way traffic enabling vehicles to exit the park via Fraser Avenue.
Vehicles entering Fraser Avenue from Kings Park Road to access the main carpark, restaurant precinct, State War Memorial or the Botanic Garden will be directed along the new roadway to a new roundabout on May Drive, where directional signs are in place to assist visitors to find their way.It is important that all vehicles keep to the left hand side of the road now that two way traffic conditions are in place. Access to the main carpark is available off May Drive.
Transperth buses will resume their service into Kings Park, stopping at the Fraser Avenue stops, from Sunday 27 December 2009. The Perth Tram and Perth City Sightseeing tours have also resumed their normal services within the park.
The southern section of Fraser Avenue will remain closed from the intersection with the new link road through to the John Forrest Roundabout, as roadworks are still in progress in this section. All works are due for completion by early April 2010. Please note that all businesses in Kings Park are open for busines as usual during the works period.
These roadworks are part of improvements planned for the Fraser Avenue Ceremonial Walk project. Read more about the project...
The Authority apologises for any inconvenience caused by the traffic disruption and thanks you for your co-operation and patience during the works.
