The strategic direction of the Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority is largely dictated by the Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority Act 1998 and Regulations 1999. Policy documents such as the Strategic Plan and Management Plans assist in the planning of operational activities (refer to left-hand menu).
Critical to the formation of these documents are the following Vision and Mission Statement.
BGPA Vision
To create and provide world-recognised botanic gardens and parks and to inspire the conservation of biodiversity.
BGPA Mission Statement
To conserve and enhance Kings Park and Botanic Garden and Bold Park with the community, and to conserve biological diversity generally.
