The proclamation of the Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority Act 1998 on 1 July 1999 dissolved the Kings Park Board and established the Botanic Gardens and Park Authority (BGPA) and its Board of Management to control and manage Kings Park and other land (currently Bold Park).
