All visitors to Kings Park and Botanic Garden and Bold Park are required to comply with the Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority's Regulations 1999 and the Conditions of Use. These Conditions and Regulations aim to ensure that proposed functions or events do not impact on Kings Park and Botanic Garden or Bold Park's conservation values and to prevent disappointment due to other activities or maintenance occurring at the same time and place.
Prior written permission by the Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority is required to conduct a wedding, function, sporting activity or commercial filming and photography in Kings Park and Botanic Garden and Bold Park. We request that as much notice as possible is provided to allow sufficient time for processing your application, however we cannot take bookings more than one year in advance.
Please ensure that you agree to abide by all of the conditions prior to proceeding with your application. It is in your best interest to ensure that all guests, participants, hire equipment and catering companies are fully aware of the Conditions and Regulations, as all infringements are issued to the event or function organisers.
The Authority provides venue hire only in Kings Park and Botanic Garden or Bold Park. The functions organisers are responsible for organising caterers, chairs, tables or decorations and details must be provided in your application. All equipment must be free standing and decorations must not be hung from, or attached to, any structures, trees or signs. Refer to the Catering, Alcohol and Equipment pages for more information.
The Authority is unable to reserve any parking area. All vehicles must be parked in designated car parks. Vehicles are not permitted on footpaths or grassed areas and must not stop or park in No Parking or No Stopping zones. This includes wedding cars, limousines, catering vans and delivery vehicles. For conservation reasons, throwing of rice, confetti, rose petals or ashes is not permitted.
To maintain public health and safety, all rubbish must be removed or placed inside rubbish bins. Leaving the rubbish next to a rubbish bin is classed as littering. You may incur a fine if rubbish or litter is left behind after the function.
Portable barbecues must not be brought into Kings Park and Botanic Garden or Bold Park without prior written permission. Free BBQs are available in Kings Park and Botanic Garden. You will find these located in Synergy Parkland, Lotterywest Family Area, Saw Avenue Picnic Area and the Pines Picnic Area on Fraser Avenue.
