Completed in 1897, it was the first such shelter built in Kings Park and affords magnificent 360-degree views of the city of Perth, the Swan River and the Darling Range.
Originally a Kiosk, it was constructed of Jarrah timber with a tile roof. The original floor was boarded and raised to allow people sitting inside to have a clear view of the river. Rotunda One is located to the south of the State War Memorial Precinct.
