The Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority offers a variety of community education opportunities.

Connect Workshops

'Connect with Kings Park' is a public education program that provides inspiring and insightful walks and talks, practical demonstrations, short courses and workshops for adults. The program runs during the Kings Park Festival and includes events as diverse as photography workshops, themed guided walks, seminars on green gardening and bush survival skills. School activities for children are also available as part of the Kings Park Education program.

Guided Walks

Free guided walks are offered by our friendly Volunteer Guides who will lead you on a walk of discovery and enjoyment in the bushland, through the landscaped parklands or around the Botanic Garden while enjoying the panoramic views, learning about the fascinating diversity of plants and discovering the European and Indigenous heritage.

Volunteer Opportunities

Practical on-site education is available for all enthusiastic members of the public in a variety of volunteer roles. Thousands of Western Australians generously give their time in Kings Park and Bold Park each year. They help to care for the natural environment, welcome visitors, advance science and preserve Western Australian history.
