Logo - click link to Schools sectionWe want you to have a brilliant excursion to Kings Park. Please plan your visit carefully to make sure everything runs smoothly. Bookings are a must for all school excursions to Kings Park. If you need any help or advice, please contact the Education Bookings Officer.

The information below will assist you to plan your visit. It contains the information you need to complete the DET Excursion Management Plan.

Know your drop-off zone

Check the map (simple, but vital advice). There are several drop-off and meeting points in Kings Park. Knowing yours before you arrive will take the stress out of your excursion. Call us on +61 (08) 9480 3638 or 0434 307 501 if you get lost.

Refer to the Kings Park Education map to plan your visit.

Arrival Time

Please arrive at least ten minutes prior to your start time. Late arrivals may cause your program to be cut short.

Booking confirmation

You will receive an email confirming your excursion details once your booking is confirmed. Please check the details carefully and contact us immediately if there are any discrepancies.

Safe Supervision

Close supervision of students is essential. Kings Park and Botanic Garden staff are not responsible for the supervision or behaviour of your students. Please read the Excursion Management Plan for appropriate ratios for each age group.

Download the BGPA Excursion Management Plan and Public Liability Insurance Certification to assist with planning your excursion. These documents provide important information on the site, insurance and liability, emergency procedures, communication and supervision.

What to Bring

  • Hats, water bottles and suitable shoes - Hats and water bottles are strongly recommended throughout the year. Closed-in shoes are best and don't forget the sunscreen.
  • Waste-Free Lunches - There are no bins in Rio Tinto Naturescape Kings Park or the Botanic Garden. We encourage all schools to take their rubbish away as part of our commitment to environmental conservation. Why not encourage your students to bring waste-free lunches?
  • Pack your lunches in a covered container to deter birds or other wildlife.
