Balga treesThere has been a burst of new plant life in the recently burnt areas of Bold Park, from the magnificent Balgas with their towering flower spikes to the pioneer species that carpet the bushland floor.

Western Australian plants have a host of strategies to help their recovery following bushfire. Some, like the Balga, flourish after fire while others take a lot longer to recover. Take this unique opportunity to discover just how these plants strive to survive and the changes occurring in this dynamic environment.

Please wear a hat, sturdy shoes, sunscreen and bring drinking water.

Notes

Meeting location at the end of Wollaston Road, Mount Claremont.

This walk requires a moderate level of fitness.

There are no public toilets in Bold Park but there are toilets close by at the playground at the southern end of Perry Lakes Reserve.
