Kings Park and Botanic Garden are committed to the introduction and appropriate use of native species in the urban environment.
Local native plants are generally poorly represented in the urban environment and only a limited palette of the possible species is available through the nursery trade. Kings Park and Botanic Garden aims to promote native flora through the introduction of appropriate native species to the urban environment. Discussions with strategic partners have been undertaken to identify possible projects and activities to achieve this objective.
The Friends of Kings Park hold quarterly plant sales at Kings Park and Botanic Garden, which provide the community a great opportunity to buy native plants for their garden and help support Kings Park at the same time.
