Boodja Gnarning Family Fun DayLiving off the land

An opportunity to further open your eyes, ears and heart to the long and important Indigenous history of Kings Park. This land has had a special place in the hearts of local Nyoongar people since long before European settlement.

This special family day will celebrate traditional Nyoongar culture with a range of fun activities and entertainment suitable for the whole family.

Families can participate in a range of traditional Indigenous cultural activities including didgeridoo and dance performances and children’s art and craft activities. Relax to the sounds of Live and Local as Indigenous musicians perform live on the main stage.

Enjoy the Boodja Gnarning Walk, which translates to living and eating off the land. This self-guided walk explores the Nyoongar traditional use of Kings Park’s plants ranging from food and tools to medicine and cultural significance.

Other Indigenous cultural activities on this day include Indigenous Cultural Heritage Tours by the Nannup Family Trust which is a privately operated, fee-based activity and places must be booked in advance.
