The Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority enjoys an international reputation in biodiversity conservation science, undertaking integrated research focused on practical outcomes in native plant biology, rare plant conservation and bushland restoration. Successful conservation outcomes are achieved through world-class research and strategic alliances with industry, land managers, the community and other research organisations.
The Science team has a long history of successful post-graduate student supervision in collaboration with all of Western Australia's universities, demonstrated by a high conversion of graduating students into relevant jobs. Our staff co-ordinate and teach a semester long third year university unit in 'Plant Conservation and Restoration Biology' as part of the Bachelor of Science (Restoration Ecology) degree in the School of Plant Biology at the University of Western Australia (Read more...).
