With so many plants and wildflowers found nowhere else on Earth, Western Australia is a true haven for beauty rich and rare - which made it the perfect theme for the 2015 Kings Park Festival!

This year marked the 50th anniversary of the Western Australian Botanic Garden in Kings Park.

To celebrate, we held a number of colourful exhibitions during the Kings Park Festival. The 'Funky Trunks' exhibition saw some of our most beautiful trees in Kings Park dressed to party this wildflower season and the exhibition's star - the Queen's Tree - was a huge hit!

Aspects of Kings Park Gallery Shop was looking particularly beautiful with a vibrant umbrella display entitled Bella Umbrellas and stunning Window Art by Future Shelter. Plus, Aspects had two artists in residence during September: jeweller Jessica Jubb and painter Emma Blyth.

Although the festival has now come to an end, the 50th anniversary celebrations are continuing. Our anniversary exhibition '50 Year Journey', dotted throughout the WA Botanic Garden has been extended until the end of the year, and our bold and beautiful 'Big Five-O' will be standing proud near the Pioneer Women's Memorial until early 2016.

Meanwhile, our special anniversary flower 'Anniversary Gold' - a yellow variety of Kangaroo Paw developed by the Kings Park Nursery is still in bloom! You can find this sunny beauty on display at John Forrest Roundabout and flourishing all through spring.
