The Synergy Parkland in Kings Park and Botanic Garden is the first environmental playground and community area of its kind in Australia.
The Parkland features a 75m-long elevated walkway, a two-tiered island fort, large-scale replicas of local dinosaurs, a timber boardwalk and an interactive water misting forest. Children can run headlong into the millennia-old past, follow the footprints of giant dinosaurs and discover ancient fossils.
The Arthur Fairall Playground within the Synergy Parkland has also been given a new lease of life. What was once a much-loved but worn-out playground that had entertained Perth children for more than three decades, has been revamped into an exciting and challenging area for children to explore, discover, play and simply enjoy being outdoors.
The Synergy Parkland is a recreation area for the entire family with the playground particularly suitable for children over six years. Evening outdoor cinema is held here each summer. There are ten free electric barbeques, public toilets and fantastic grassed areas where children can run as wild as their imagination! Zamia Cafe offers wonderful food, coffee and service in a unique setting in Synergy Parkland, and the Bovell Kiosk opens at busy times for your convenience.
The Synergy Parkland is a smoke-free zone and no skateboards, scooters or bikes are allowed. Parents may find play equipment at the Ivey Watson Playground within the Lotterywest Family Area is more suitable for the little ones under six years.
