Free Guided Walks

Download Guided Walks brochureGuided walks depart daily from Fraser Avenue, outside Aspects of Kings Park at 10.00 am, 12.00 pm and 2.00 pm. The 10.00 am and 2.00 pm walks run daily throughout the year, except Christmas Day. The 12.00 pm walk is conducted from 1 September to 30 June only.

Guided walks are free to the public and bookings are not necessary for groups less than 10 people.  Additional walks are available during the Kings Park Festival from 1 September to 2 October.

The Kings Park Guides also offer special guided walks for group bookings (greater than 10 people) who have particular needs, such as a convenient time or specially designed topic. These are available at the low cost of $5.00 per person.

On occasion, the expertise of BGPA staff is available for specific groups. For further details on this service, please contact the Customer Service Officer.

Botanic Garden Walk (All Year) 1 - 1 1/2 hours
Travel the State in our Botanic Garden! Wander among the unique Western Australian flora and discover the glorious diversity of the plants to be found from the coast to the desert, from the rugged north to the southern forests.
Kings Park - Past and Present (All Year) 1 - 1 1/2 hours
Listen to stories about the park from earliest times. Learn about the memorials and monuments that provide a visible focus for our memories. Enjoy exotic trees, native flora and panoramic views of the city. (Paths suitable for wheelchairs).
Water Views and Wilderness (May - Oct) 2 - 2 1/2 hours

Enjoy glorious views of the Swan River as you wander along the top of the Mount Eliza Escarpment. Travel inland to explore the unique flora of the Kings Park bushland.

Bushland Paths - The Heart of Kings Park (May - Oct) 2 1/2 - 3 hours

Tread bushland paths as they lead you deep into the park. Discover how plants learn to cope with a challenging environment, but beware of the carnivorous ones lurking beside the paths!

Wilderness and Wildflowers (July - October) 1 - 1 /2 hours
View the bush as it enjoys its spring flourish. Walk along the Nature Trail and into the natural Kings Park bushland where you will encounter milkmaids and postmen, pixies and fairies, donkeys and spiders. (Paths suitable for wheelchairs).
Mystery Walk 1 - 1 /2 hours
Each Guide will take visitors on a mystery walk within Kings Park, visiting a variety of interesting places and plants from areas around Western Australia. The final destination will always be a mystery until the walk is over. Visitor’s requests maybe able to be included in the walk.
