Every five years, the Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority (BGPA) must review plans for the management of all lands for which it is responsible - as prescribed in Part 4 of the Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority Act 1998.

Kings Park and Botanic Garden
The Kings_Park_Management_Plan_2004-2009 1.13 Mb, which was launched by the Hon. Dr Judy Edwards MLA, Minister for the Environment on 29 June 2004, builds upon past plans and achievements. It also identifies new initiatives for Kings Park and Botanic Garden for the 2004-2009 period including:
- development of the Fraser Avenue Ceremonial Walk
- world-class research-based ecological restoration to conserve and enhance native biological diversity
- improved visitor services and parkland facilities
- development of a new retail outlet
- completion of stage one of the Plant Conservation Centre
- improvements to the Western Australian Botanic Garden.
Bold Park
The Bold_Park_Management_Plan_2006-2011 2.54 Mb, which was launched by the Hon. Mr Mark McGowan, Minister for the Environment; Racing and Gaming on 27 May 2006, builds upon the inaugural plan and past achievements. It also identifies priorities for Bold Park for the 2006-2011 period including:
- conserve biodiversity
- restore ecological communities
- continue leading-edge research
- improve visitor facilities
- increase the education focus
- encourage strong community partnerships
- promote an appropriate public identity.
