Memorials Walk Print E-mail

Kings Park and Botanic Garden has more memorials, statues and honour avenues than any other park in Australia. The Self-Guided Memorials Walk is 1.7 km in length and takes approximately one hour to walk, with suitable access for wheelchairs and prams.

Visitors will take in stunning views of the Swan River and Perth's central business district as they pass the State War Memorial, Lord John Forrest statue, the entrance of the Western Australian Botanic Garden and Lotterywest Federation Walkway. Then back to the restaurant precinct and Aspects of Kings Park, including the Wittenoom Floral Clock, bedecked with native wildflowers in a crafted cottage garden.

From here visitors can walk along Fraser Avenue, learning about the trees and the memorials along the way, before coming back up the other side of Fraser Avenue and finishing in the State War Memorial precinct at the Jewish Memorial.

A brochure detailing the pdf Self-Guided Memorials_Walk 259.51 Kb can be downloaded or obtained from the Kings Park Visitor Information Centre.

Further information may be found in the History and Memorials section or a beautifully presented keepsake book entitled 'Memories and Memorials' can be purchased from Aspects of Kings Park.
