| Become a Kings Park Guide |

We are seeking keen, friendly, enthusiastic people who have a genuine interest in people and in Kings Park and Botanic Garden and would like to become a Kings Park Guide. If you are interested in becoming a guide, we invite you to come along to an Orientation Morning where you can meet and chat with experienced volunteer Guides and sign up for an interview to undertake the Guide Training Course. Testimonial statement: 'Being a Guide has opened up a whole new world to me. I have learned so much and I get to spend time in Kings Park, which I love. I have made so many new friends who share my interest in wildflowers and in the history of this wonderful place. It is very rewarding.' Thelma The volunteer Kings Park Guides provide one of the most high profile services to visitors in Kings Park. They volunteer Guides staff the Visitor Information Centre, lead daily Guided Walks and get involved in numerous activities throughout the year. The Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority greatly values the important role the Guides play and provides targeted training to assist in their endeavours. Monthly meetings and a special activity program enable all guides to continue their ongoing learning. Recruitment for the Kings Park Guides follows the successful completion of a Guide Training Course, which is conducted, on average, every two years. The 2008 course will be run from 30 July to 19 November and we are now seeking expressions of interest for registration in this course. |
