Major improvements are planned in some of the most visited areas within Kings Park and Botanic Garden.

Please be aware that some venues will be unavailable for weddings and event bookings between May 2008 and April 2009.

Saw Avenue 

A refurbishment of the Saw Avenue Picnic Area is underway in late 2008 affecting the availablility of power and causing disruption to the site. Bookings will not be taken for the Saw Avenue Precinct (Saw Avenue Lawn or Ernst Wittwer Playground) from 1 May 2008 to 30 April 2009 inclusive.

Fraser Avenue

The Fraser Avenue Ceremonial Walk Project will provide a safer environment for visitors in this popular tourism precinct and will enhance the dignity and significance of the State War Memorial. Read more about this project...

The construction period will be from June 2008 to May 2009. During this time there will be disruption to traffic flow and carparking in the vicinity of Fraser Avenue and the main carpark, including extended road closures and significantly reduced parking, and access to certain venues will be restricted to ensure your safety. Your patience and tolerance of these short term works is very much appreciated.

As the Authority is unable to ensure the usual high standards of access, parking, presentation and ambience within these areas, no bookings will be accepted in the Fraser Avenue Precinct or the Botanic Garden Precinct from 1 June 2008 to 30 April 2009 inclusive. We apologise for any inconvenience the bookings restrictions may cause.
