Autumn is also a great time to seek advice from the Kings Park experts about the top species to plant in your garden and how to care for them.

Dig it with Coffee, hosted by Kings Park's Volunteer Master Gardeners, is a free and friendly gardening advice session held monthly at Zamia Cafe. For the cost of a coffee you can ask a Kings Park horticulturist your tricky native gardening questions and take a guided tour around the Backyard Botanicals Garden, a 'grow-me-at-home' display garden of native Western Australian plants.

The next session is 10.00 am to 11.30 am, Wednesday 6 June. Dig it with Coffee is free of charge but bookings are essential. Please phone (+61 8) 9480 3672 or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to reserve your place.

The Friends of Kings Park Native Plant Sales is your next essential source of native gardening wisdom. The next plant sale is Sunday, 20 May from 9.00 am to 2.00 pm at the Exhibition Ground in Kings Park, with further 2018 plant sales to be held in September and November. The full plant list for the upcoming sale is now available to view on the Friends of Kings Park's website. We aim to alert the public to major closures and service interruptions where possible.
