We say a heartfelt 'thank you' to our amazing volunteers in Kings Park and Bold Park as we celebration National Volunteers' Week from 21 – 27 May 2018.

The youngest of our five volunteer organisations, the Friends of Kings Park, celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. The longest-serving group is the RSLWA’s Honour Avenues Group, who have been looking after the Honour Avenues in Kings Park since 1922.

Each group of volunteers contributes in different ways, bringing a magic mix of passion and expertise to their roles, according to Jacqui Kennedy, Manager of Visitor Services and Community Engagement.

‘From welcoming visitors from around the globe and assisting excited students on school excursions to lovingly propagating native plants and tackling the never-ending weeding!

‘By making such a great contribution to our much-loved parks, our volunteers are really making a contribution to the whole community,’ said Jacqui.

Amid the busy everyday activities in Kings Park and Bold Park, volunteers provide invaluable support to keep these beautiful places going, day after day.

Three cheers for our volunteers!
