Hi, my name is Emma. I am a discovery and learning leader at Kings Park.

I coordinate nature activities in Rio Tinto Naturescape and present Zippy’s Kings Park Adventures, our early learning program for 3 – 5 year olds.

I love spending time in nature and love seeing birds, quendas and insects enjoying my garden as much as I do.

John Dagnall


Hi, my name is John and I’m a nature activities leader in Rio Tinto Naturescape Kings Park.  

I get to welcome thousands of visitors to Rio Tinto Naturescape every year and help engage them with our unique environment.   
I am currently studying Environmental Biology at Curtin University. I am very passionate about nature and I enjoy all kinds of sports!

Hi, my name is Louise and I am a discovery and learning leader at Kings Park.

I work in Rio Tinto Naturescape Kings Park and I teach 3 to 5-year olds about nature in our Zippy’s Kings Park Adventures community program.

I love nature and I love being outside. I live in Belmont with my family and pets including four ducks, two chickens and a dog; and lots of trees in my backyard!

Hi, my name is Marnie and I'm a community engagement officer at Kings Park.

I design and run programs for the community to get involved in at Kings Park.

I’m a conservation artist, wildlife carer and educator and I love our unique wildlife and natural places.

I love discovering and learning and sharing with others and that is why I love my job at Kings Park!

Ricky Walley


Hi, my name is Ricky.

I am a proud Noongar yok (woman) with connections to seven of the 14 Noongar nations.

I have a passion for Aboriginal language preservation and education. I am an education officer at Kings Park and I teach Noongar culture and heritage and help plan and run Kings Park Education’s cultural heritage events.

Kings Park access disruption

Part of the Western Path between Monash Avenue and Aberdare Road will be closed from Monday, 8 February 2021 due to construction works on The Kids’ Bridge, pedestrian detours will be in place.

DNA Tower closure

The DNA Tower in Kings Park will be closed from Monday, 8 February 2021 until mid-April 2021 due to maintenance.

Concert traffic interruptions

Road and carpark closures will occur in Kings Park and Botanic Garden in February-March 2021 due to concert events.

Farewell and thank you Grady and Lesley

The Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority (BGPA) would like to extend a sincere thank you and farewell to two of our longest serving staff members, Lesley Hammersley and Grady Brand who will retire from the Authority in December 2020.
