Road closures and service interruptions will occur in Kings Park and Bold Park from Friday 26 January to Saturday 27 January, 2018.
Kings Park and Botanic Garden
All roads and carparks in Kings Park will be closed to all vehicles from 6.00 am until approximately 11.30 pm on Australia Day, Friday 26 January, 2018.
The 21 Gun Salute will fire at noon on Australia Day from the State War Memorial and the Fraser Avenue precinct offers an excellent viewing opportunity during the Australia Day Skyworks.
Only pedestrian access will be permitted in the park during this busy time. ACROD permit holders and confirmed Fraser's Restaurant patrons with a parking pass will be permitted vehicle access through Saw Avenue.
The following services will be unavailable on Australia Day:
- Aboriginal Art Gallery
- Aspects of Kings Park gallery shop
- Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority Administration
- Rio Tinto Naturescape Kings Park
- Zamia Cafe.
A total fire ban will be in place throughout the day. This means no sparklers or portable barbecues are permitted. Sunshelters, marquees and spiking items into the ground are also not permitted.
Dogs are not permitted at this event. Please help us to keep Kings Park tidy by placing all rubbish in the bags and bins provided.
Consumption of alcohol will only be permitted between 6.30 pm and 8.45 pm in the designated 'BYO Picnic Zone' within the Fraser Avenue precinct. Please note that alcohol must be limited to one bottle of wine or one six-pack of beer / pre-mixed drinks per adult.
Please leave your drone at home. Under Civil Aviation Safety and Authority Regulations, drones are not permitted in Kings Park on Australia Day.
Visitors to Bold Park are advised that Reabold Hill and Scenic Drive will be closed to all vehicles on Australia Day, Friday 26 January 2018, and will reopen as usual at 5.30 am on Saturday 27 January 2018.
Parking on Scenic Drive is prohibited; alternative parking is available at the WA Ecology Centre, off Perry Lakes Drive.
