The lights that illuminate the Lemon scented gums along Fraser Avenue be turned off during Earth Hour, which begins at 8.30 pm on Saturday, 30 March 2019.

Earth Hour began in Sydney, Australia in 2007 and is now a worldwide movement involving millions of community and public spaces across hundreds of countries. The act of going ‘lights out’ for 60 minutes at 8.30 pm is a symbolic show of solidarity.

The global campaign aims to raise awareness about climate change and biodiversity. The Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority is a leading conservation organisation and is proud to participate in this important event.
