Road closures and service interruptions will occur in Kings Park and Bold Park on Wednesday 26 January 2022.

Kings Park and Botanic Garden

All roads and carparks in Kings Park will be closed to all vehicles from 6.00 am until approximately 11.30 pm on Australia Day, Wednesday 26 January 2022.

The 21 Gun Salute will fire at noon on Australia Day from the State War Memorial. The Fraser Avenue precinct offers an excellent picnic and relaxation opportunity during the Australia Day.

Only pedestrian access will be permitted in the park during this busy time. ACROD permit holders and confirmed Fraser's Restaurant patrons with a parking pass will be permitted vehicle access through Saw Avenue.

The following services will be unavailable on Australia Day:

Sunshelters, portable barbecues, marquees and spiking items into the ground are not permitted.

Dogs are not permitted at this event. Please help us to keep Kings Park tidy by placing all rubbish in the bags and bins provided.

Consumption of alcohol will only be permitted between 6.30 pm and 8.45 pm in the designated 'BYO Picnic Zone' within the Fraser Avenue precinct. Please note that alcohol must be limited to one bottle of wine or one six-pack of beer / pre-mixed drinks per adult.

Please leave your drone at home. Under Civil Aviation Safety and Authority Regulations, drones are not permitted in Kings Park on Australia Day.

Masks will be required to be worn in line with WA Government health advice. 

Bold Park

Visitors to Bold Park are advised that Reabold Hill and Scenic Drive will be closed to all vehicles on Australia Day, Wednesday 26 January 2022, and will reopen as usual at 5.30 am on Thursday 27 January 2022.

Parking on Scenic Drive is prohibited; alternative parking is available at the WA Ecology Centre, off Perry Lakes Drive.

Please help us to keep Bold Park tidy by placing all rubbish in the bins.

Rio Tinto Naturescape Kings Park will be closed from Tuesday, 1 February 2022 until Tuesday, 1 March 2022.

COVID-19

The Premier of Western Australia has announced mask-wearing in public indoor venues and on public transport will be mandatory in Perth and Peel from 6.00pm Sunday 16 January.
