Event information

Many of Australia’s native animals are nocturnal or crepuscular (active at dawn and dusk), so evenings are a great time to look for small creatures as they emerge from their daytime hiding spots. Join the Friends of Bold Bark Bushland volunteer guides for an all-ages evening walk to look for some of these night-time creatures.

As the sky darkens orb-weaver spiders start building their webs while wolf spiders emerge from their underground burrows, their big eyes twinkling brightly in the torchlight. Look up and you may see bats darting above and study tree trunks to see geckoes poking out from under pieces of loose bark. With a little luck, you might spot a tawny frogmouth or boobook owl quietly watching you from the trees or a brushtail possum munching on some leaves.

This free guided walk is led by the Friends of Bold Park Bushland volunteer guides.
