Event information
As the weather slowly warms up again, many bushland plants are about to start flowering.
Cockie’s Tongues are the first to bloom, their bright red flowers brightening up the limestone slopes. Wattles then follow, their green flower buds opening into yellow pom-pom shaped flowers. The pollen and nectar on offer attracts many insects, with the spiky stems protecting them from predators.
Join the Friends of Bold Park Bushland volunteer guides to learn more about the special things to be found in the bushland at this time of year.
