Event information

The living collections at Kings Park are unique and occur nowhere else in the world. The techniques for propagating these plants have been developed over decades to ensure the conservation of some of WA’s most vulnerable species.

This is a hands-on workshop where you will learn seed sowing techniques for enhancing your native garden. We will cover pre-treatment, environmental conditions required for success, equipment needed and the process of collecting your own seed at home.

You will sow and take home a selection of WA native plant seeds, with particular focus on species treated as summer flowering annuals in our Botanic Garden, such as Swainsona, Gomphrena, and Crotalaria species.

Please bring your own gardening gloves, and a flat-bottomed bag or box to carry your seed tray home in.
