Kings Park and Botanic Garden and Bold Park enjoy the devotion of hundreds of enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers. Together they make Kings Park and Botanic Garden the iconic and inspiring place it is to Western Australians and visitors alike.

If you have a passion for native plants, conservation, local heritage, learning or meeting people, becoming a volunteer offers great satisfaction and rewards.

There are several volunteer groups and positions at Kings Park and Bold Park. All arising volunteer positions in Kings Park are advertised in the Friends of Kings Park member newsletter. If you would like to become a Friends of Kings Park member please visit their website for more information.

Lotterywest Walkway closure

The Lotterywest Federation Walkway in Kings Park and Botanic Garden will be closed between Monday, 15 March and Friday, 19 March 2021 due to maintenance.

Kings Park access disruption

Part of the Western Path between Monash Avenue and Aberdare Road will be closed from Monday, 8 February 2021 due to construction works on The Kids’ Bridge, pedestrian detours will be in place.

DNA Tower closure

The DNA Tower in Kings Park will be closed from Monday, 8 February 2021 until mid-April 2021 due to maintenance.

Farewell and thank you Grady and Lesley

The Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority (BGPA) would like to extend a sincere thank you and farewell to two of our longest serving staff members, Lesley Hammersley and Grady Brand who will retire from the Authority in December 2020.
