Sick children and their families can now take a much-needed respite from Perth Children's Hospital grounds and immerse themselves in the Kings Park bushland. The Kids' Bridge ensures safe access to nature meaning improved health and wellbeing for patients and hospital staff.

The Kids' Bridge across Winthrop Ave, Nedlands

The journey

The Kids' Bridge was designed to create a pedestrian link from the Perth Children's Hospital to Western Australia's premier parkland; Kings Park. Spanning 217 metres long and stretching over Winthrop Avenue, the three metre wide bridge offers a safe, colourful and meandering journey to Kings Park.

Construction began in January 2021 and the official opening of the bridge took place in August 2021.

Upon reaching Kings Park, interpretive signage details the flora and fauna that can be spotted on the walk from the bridge landing to May Drive Parkland.
