Kings Park and Botanic Garden’s beautiful gardens, parkland, playgrounds and free barbecues make it a popular venue for families and friends to celebrate special occasions.

Family reunion.The Find Your Venue search tool helps you select an ideal venue from a number of heritage pavilions, rotundas and gazebos, or shaded grassed areas that are suitable for social and family functions. Prior to booking a venue, event organisers are encouraged to visit the venue personally to ensure it is suitable and refer to the Terms and Conditions.

Please note specific conditions for Social and Family functions:

  • Families or social groups under 25 people who do not wish to secure a venue or electricity and are self-catered are not required to make a booking. All weddings, corporate or community group functions, memorial services, fitness training and sporting events require a booking.
  • Fees apply for gatherings over 50 people or any gathering where a venue is required or if an external provider is engaged (including event or picnic stylists).

Fees and charges are detailed in the Social, Family and Community Group Functions application pack, available to download below or from Kings Park Administration in printed form. Please complete the application form within the pack and refer to Make a Booking to proceed with your venue booking.

Mounts Bay Road share path detours

The City of Perth will be undergoing works on the shared path along Mounts Bay Road from Thursday 23 March until Monday 8 May 2023. Detours through Kings Park will be in place.
