Throughout the session, you’ll be guided through working with delicate pressed flowers, including composition techniques, colour pairing and tips for handling and arranging your materials. Joanna will also share insight into how the flowers are pressed and preserved and how to care for your finished piece.
No experience is needed and all materials are provided. This workshop is perfect for anyone looking to slow down, get creative, and connect with nature.
Joanna Hiu is a Perth-based botanical artist whose work is rooted in memory, transforming flowers tied to life's most meaningful moments into pressed botanical artworks. Her practice includes preserving wedding bouquets into framed keepsakes, alongside hosting hands-on workshops where she shares the art of pressed flowers, drawing on years of hands-on experience refining the technique.
