Kings Park’s Moortabiny to reach new heights with Nine Perth partnership
The Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority (BGPA) is delighted to announce Nine Perth as the official Media Partner for an all-new drone and sound show in Kings Park and Botanic Garden.
Created exclusively for the Western Australian Botanic Garden, Moortabiny (Becoming Family) is crafted with an original narrative by award-winning author Kim Scott, and brought to life with lights, a unique soundscape, storytelling trees, and a spectacular grand finale drone show.
The experience shares the unheard voices of the State’s flora and fauna, connecting the Western Australian community to the natural environment in a new way.
Visitors are invited to stop, listen, and hear the stories of the trees, enjoy a picnic under the stars, and then be taken on a journey of culture, conservation and science in a narrative that captures the heart of Kings Park; the botanic garden.
BGPA Executive Director Morgan Marsh said that Nine Perth joining the event emphasised the strong local connection.
“Channel 9 has been bringing the Perth community together for over sixty years.
“We are delighted to welcome them to join the celebration of Moortabiny as we bring this unique event to Kings Park and Botanic Garden.”

Moortabiny will be presented for three nights only, between 2 – 4 October in the Pioneer Women’s Memorial.
