Community input sought to inform future of Kings Park and Bold Park
Consultation is now open to shape the Botanic Garden and Parks Authority's 20-Year Master Plan for Kings Park and Bold Park.
The Master Plan is a holistic, long-term vision and high-level decision-making framework. Once developed, the plan aims to inform the management, use and protection of both Kings Park and Bold Park for the next two decades.
Kings Park and Bold Park are not just vital amenity areas, they are important conservation sites for remnant bushland, historic sites of cultural heritage, and home to a vast number of flora and fauna species. Kings Park is also home to the Western Australian Botanic Garden – one of only a handful of botanic gardens in the world to showcase exclusively local flora.
It is critical that these locations continue to be carefully managed to ensure a sustainable future for the gardens, our wildlife and the people of Perth.
With extensive research now completed, BGPA is commencing public consultation, to gather stories, values and aspirations about Kings Park and Bold Park to understand how these places are used and valued.
Kings Park and Bold Park are part of Perth’s identity, and the Master Plan is your chance to help shape their future. Show us what’s important to you as we craft this 20-year vision.
The public submission period has commenced and will close on 13 August 2026.
