Guichenotia ledifolia

A gentle beauty and quiet achiever thriving throughout the hot summer months.

This densely branched shrub, typically under 2m tall, has a soft, silvery appearance from its white stellate haired foliage. Nodding pink to mauve flowers clustered in groups of three to ten per cyme.

Grow it at home

  • Prune after flowering to retain bushiness and encourage new growth
  • Well-draining sandy acidic soil
  • Dappled sunlight to sunny position
  • Incredibly low maintenance - once established these plants can handle spells of drought making it a great waterwise species
  • The silvery foliage is great for adding softness to a garden bed and offers dimension when planted alongside established greenery
  • Can act as a border plant or hedging
  • Perfect for a home garden with children, as this plant is soft to the touch and non-irritant.
