Eucalyptus websteriana subsp. websteriana

Webster’s Mallee

A rocky outcrop loving mallee growing from 2 - 6m that wears its heart on its leaves.

This mallee offers layers of attractiveness making it a one-stop-shop for those looking for a feature tree.

The peeling minnirichi bark provides a textural element to the red-brown trunk while cream to pale lemon-yellow flowers appear in spring to early summer. Fruits are persistent adding a decorative element to the overall appeal.

Grow it at home

  • Thrives in full sun to part shade
  • Great small tree to support native fauna in the home garden
  • This plant has a lovely form and proves very easy to care for once established. Prune off any dead branches as it ages to maintain aesthetics.
  • Water while establishing through first summer then water when needed
  • Add 50 - 100mm of mulch to increase water retention and nutrient and organic material availability
  • Fertilise with a controlled-release native fertiliser when young
  • Weed regularly to remove competition for water and to ensure nutrients are used by your plants.
